He added that about half the players signed up are from Pictou County, while the other half are from other communities. Some players from Halifax were brought in to round out the teams. He added that smaller communities often lack queer sports organizations and resources, so this outreach event is to help people connect with organizations in Halifax or inspire the community to establish its own queer sports organization.
