Residents of Kitsap County, Washington state were surprised to receive calls from the Public Works department informing them that their street name would be changed from Clear Creek Road to Cannabis Way.Officials at Kitsap County Public Works were forced to issue a notice advising residents to “hang up” on any call they receive from anyone claiming to be a Public Works employee informing them of planned changes on residents’ property.
“They mostly called because it’s out of character for the county,” said Bear. “So, they called to verify that it was someone from the county, and that’s how we discovered it was not.”
