Residents can expect a visible police presence. Police ask members of the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues.

Police said an individual was taken into custody following a weapons incident in the area of Intercity.

Officers with the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to a location in the 900 block of Fort William Road at approximately 4:30 p.m. on March 1. Police said responding officers encountered a man waving an apparent handgun. The Thunder Bay Police Service’s Emergency Task Unit and K9 Unit also responded, according to police, who said a male suspect was apprehended.
