One person is in custody after a TTC passenger was shot with a BB gun at York University subway station.
Toronto police tweeted they were called to the station around 11:45 a.m. for the incident after reports of teens seen with a BB gun and a passenger shot at with a BB gun or replica gun. Police said the victim’s injuries at this time are unknown and information on the suspect’s identity was not shared.The TTC tweeted that buses were redirected as a result of the security incident.
The TTC also tweeted that service was briefly halted between Pioneer Village station and Finch West station due to a security incident.On Jan. 21, the operator was reportedly shot in the Markham Road and Progress Avenue area around 6:30 p.m. The victim was struck twice with the projectiles, according to police. The suspect or suspects in that incident were allegedly teenage males, police said.
