SYDNEY, N.S. — Cindy Binns isn't able to talk for a few minutes when asked about the vandalism of the breast cancer awareness display outside her salon on Saturday.

Nine years ago, Binns was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. Around that time her sister, who also works at Aarc Salon, was going through treatment for stage 3 breast cancer as well. "Bras for a cause is what I call them," she said, with a smile."People come in and ask why we have the bras up. They ask where they can donate."

"If we could reach one or two women or people — men suffer from this too — then we've helped our community … it's very disappointing they did this." "If she needed bras that bad? Why didn't you just come and knock on her door? You know, if she had said, you know, do you have any spare bras we would have been happy to donate bras to these people," said Binns.

Binns said they took down the remaining bras and the display because it didn't look as good with a torn sign and about six pink bras.
