Aaron, the former chair of Beth Shalom/Beth Tzedec Out of the Cold program, said the number of unhoused people dying in Toronto is “appalling,” especially those who died in so-called “safe, indoor spaces.”, are disproportionately represented when it comes to homelessness and deaths, while advocating to reverse the trend through “truth and reconciliation.”from April, Indigenous people represent between one and 2.5 per cent of Toronto’s 2.

“How long can this go on? That’s my question,” said Patel, who among other things is the founder of the Ansaar Foundation, a charitable organization focused on poverty reduction and addressing homelessness in Toronto.
