Brandon Banks just wants to “show everyone” he is still Speedy B, one of the CFL’s top receivers, and still a threat now that he’s a free-agent signing with the Toronto Argos.

in last week’s CFL free-agent period, landing both Banks and former Winnipeg power back Andrew Harris.

“Obviously, I want to prove to people I can still play, but I have no doubt about it, that I can still play. I will have doubters out there, but that’s okay, I’ve always had doubters out there. It is what it is, and I’m going to go out and be me, and stay healthy so I can show everyone I can still be Speedy B.”

While small in size — he is listed at five-foot-seven, and the lightest player in the CFL at 150 pounds — Banks played 111 games for Hamilton, standing first in team history with 3,773 kick return yards, 3,049 punt return yards and five missed field goal return touchdowns. He had his first 1,000-yard receiving season in 2018, and put up a career-best season in 2019, with 1,550 receiving yards, and 13 touchdowns.
