The opposition says doing so would have avoided the numerous problems that have plagued the student volunteer program, including the fact participants will receive less than minimum wage for each hour worked

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau holds a news conference at Rideau Cottage, in Ottawa, on July 13, 2020.Federal opposition parties are demanding to know why the Liberal government created a $900-million program to help students find volunteer positions rather than putting the money into an existing summer jobs program.

Opposition parties say the Liberals could have accomplished the same task by putting the money into the existing Canada Summer Jobs program, through which thousands of jobs for students are subsidized by the federal government every year. The opposition says doing so would have avoided the numerous problems that have plagued the volunteer program, including the fact participants will receive less than minimum wage for each hour worked.

Justine Incompetent Trudeau.......not to be trusted in all matters.

The program didn't need $900,000. 100,000 students maxed out would be $500,000. This whole program was fraudulent.

Don’t be silly. That would require cognitive reasoning.

Isn't the reason the students need this money bc there are limited jobs due to restrictions from Covid? The CSJP is a wage subsidy given to employers to hire youth 15-30 years old? How does the $$ get to students if the jobs aren't there? How would it get distributed?

globepolitics The same summer jobs program that negated religious freedoms and required all applicants to pledge their support for abortion?

This morning, Britain announced fully ban Hua Wei in its 5G. Now it is the turn for Trudeau to speak out his decision. Canadians do not want to hear his another apology for giving permission to Hua Wei.

The Trudeau “Liberals” were more concerned with their own self interests than they were actually providing opportunities for young people If that had been the sole focus WE would not even have entered the conversation and none of this would have ever even taken place

Yeah...things are kinda slow, a fishing trip is in order here when no one seems to have much to do. At this point any of the parties not doing so are guilty of putting their partisan agendas ahead of the good of the country. There is no way to justify not doing so and still retain any credibility they may have had me2we
