Prime ministers rarely appear before parliamentary committees.

to testify before a parliamentary committee about his government’s controversial decision to enlist WE Charity to administer a $900-million student volunteer program.

“Did the WE organization call him and suggest it? Did it come through the staff in his office? Did it come out of his own head? Did members of his family who had been paid by the organization suggest it to him. We need to hear directly from him on these questions.”Conservative MP Pierre Poilievre rises in the House of Commons after the government delivered a fiscal snapshot on July 8, 2020 in Ottawa.

Trudeau nonetheless faced accusations of cronyism and allegations of a conflict of interest over his past connections with WE. Those allegations have only grown after revelations his wife, brother and mother have been paid a combined $300,000 for appearing at a number of WE events. The government and WE terminated the deal on July 3, which had promised the organization up to $19 million in payment depending on how many students participated. The federal employment and social development department has since taken over the program.

“Or Parliament can compel him to appear. Something that would take longer, but could be done — and should be done — if the prime minister hides from accountability.”

Pierre is a very good professional, clean living, family man.

Can’t we just drop this We thing and get on with the business of governing this country. Jobs were up significantly last month. The economy is slowly moving forward. JustinTrudeau deserves credit for his handling of COVID19. Can we just keep our eye on the ball.

Well how bout we make one the “rare” exceptions then. $900 million of our tax dollars should warrant an exception. Sick of this coward hiding behind parliamentary privilege. What is the difference between Trudeau and the orange man if you flout the office in the electorates face.

I usually vote Conservative, but come on. Can we not focus on more important things, like getting Covid-19 under control and kick starting our economy so Canadians can get back to work and avoid losing their homes? Pierre poilievre, known as Skippy throughout his career as a professional politician, cheated his way into parliament. When will the CPC force him to testify at committee? When will the CPC expel Skippy from caucus? Are they prepared for airing all their ties with WE? Are they prepared for a backlash from Canadians who are more concerned about jobs and their health? Let the Ethics Comissioner do his job and the MPs get on with the issues that concern their constituents. StopTheCircus”.
