Savoring Success with Taste Nova Scotia Culinary Ambassador Amy Savoury | SaltWirePORT HOOD — Campbell Barrett scored the game-winner with just six seconds left in regulation play as Cape Breton West Islanders beat the South Shore Mustangs 2-1 in Nova Scotia Under-18 Major Hockey League action at the Al MacInnis Sports Centre in Port Hood on Saturday.Cameron Barnes’s first-period goal accounted for all the Mustangs offence.

Jake Poirier turned aside 15 of 16 shots for the win while Noah Muise stopped 20 of 22 in a losing effort.Meanwhile, James Clarke scored the overtime winner as the Cole Harbour Wolfpack edged the Sydney Mitsubishi Rush 4-3 Saturday at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre. Aiden Clowater had two goals for the visitors while Carter Davidson and Connor Malana also scored for Cole Harbour.

Malcolm MacDonald led the Miners with a pair of goals while Kayden Robitaille and Tyler Seymour added single markers for the home team. Wolfpack netminder Will Cole and Miners goalkeeper Johnathan Coombs each stopped 30 of 34 shots in regulations. Shots for OT were not available.
