Sweet and Spicy: what's the buzz on honey infusions? | SaltWireTwo Cape Breton teams left the rink empty-handed on Friday night in Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League action.

The Eskasoni Jr. Eagles dropped their road game against the Valley Maple Leafs 3-2 at the West Hants Sports Complex in Windsor, N.S. The sides played at a 2-2 tie for more than a period before Valley’s Christopher Brown struck on the power play at 14:03 of the third period for the game-winner. Connor Deluney and Nick Goodwin added the Maple Leafs’ other two goals.

Terrance Toney and Joshua Novak found the back of the net for the Eagles. Jaden Croft stopped 35 shots for Valley in the winning effort. Patrick Hinchey was the goalie of record for Eskasoni. At the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre, the East Hants Penguins of Lantz, N.S. defeated the Strait Pirates 4-1. Devin Meagher, Owen Cleary, Jayson Hansen and Logan Durno rounded out the Penguins scoring, while Danny Gillis responded for Strait.

Although the Pirates outshot East Hants 38-26, Penguins stopper Marcus Pettipas turned aside all shots but one. Isaac Sparrow turned aside 22 shots in the loss.
