The Nova Scotia government has given approval in principle for a 10-year shale gas production lease in the Windsor Block of Hants County. Test drilling has been conducted in Kennetcook.

• The Nova Scotia government granted Elmworth Energy Corporation, the Canadian operating subsidiary of Triangle Petroleum Corporation, approval in principle for a 10-year shale gas production lease in the Windsor Block of Hants County . Test drilling was centred around Kennetcook .
