Voters on Newfoundland’s Avalon Peninsula have few kind words about the controversial federal carbon tax, but the views they hold on their Liberal MPs who are part of the government that has implemented the policy are—in some cases—more nuanced. Atlantic Canada—and the province of Newfoundland and Labrador in particular—has been a bastion of support for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau since his party came to power in 2015 with a clean sweep of all of the ridings east of Quebec in that election.
