Talks are underway in Smithers, B.C. to try to resolve the dispute over the Coastal GasLink pipeline.

Wet'suwet'en hereditary chiefs are into their second day of meetings with federal and provincial ministers.

They oppose the pipeline on their territory, and that has sparked protests and blockades across the country. Federal Crown-Indigenous Relations Minister Carolyn Bennett and B.C. Indigenous Relations Minister Scott Fraser say they're open to continuing talks over the weekend.
