Ryan Miller had 26 saves in his first start of the season, lifting the AnaheimDucks to a 2-1 win over the BlueJacketsNHL on Friday night.

Jakob Silverberg and Cam Fowler scored for the Ducks, who have won four of their first five to start the season. The 39-year-old Miller was terrific after being slotted in for starter John Gibson on the second night of a back-to-back.After a scoreless first period, Silverberg got a short-handed goal when he put back a rebound to cap an odd-man rush that was set up by a deflection off an official’s skate.

Dubois made it a one-goal game late in the second when he tore down the left side and delivered a sharp-angle shot that went in off Miller’s arm. Columbus pulled the goalie with two minutes remaining, but managed only two shots with the man advantage.Columbus put F Josh Anderson on injured reserve and recalled Markus Hannikainen from Cleveland of the American Hockey League. … Anaheim F Ryan Getzlaf played in his 989th game, becoming the Ducks’ all-time games-played leader. The 34-year-old passed Corey Perry, who played 988 games in 14 seasons with Anaheim. … Ducks D Brendan Guhle was out with a lower-body injury.

As Blue Jays weigh options with Giles, timing and leverage are key - Sportsnet.caShould the BlueJays trade closer Ken Giles? Or keep him? ShiDavidi breaks down the four options with Giles and the risks associated with them. ShiDavidi depends.. can he play the outfield or be a starting pitcher ShiDavidi Trade everybody. Keep tanking. It's only been 26 years since the last championship. Keep going! ShiDavidi He’s a legit proven major league caliber closer. Why not keep him to help stabilize a bullpen with so many other bullpen slots up in the air for next year. Unless some offers a trade that can’t be refused, I’d say keep him and try and re-sign him.
