.IvisonJ: Trudeau oblivious as Canadians lose faith in government's ability to keep peace, order via nationalpost

Politicians on all sides of the House engaged freely in puerile point-scoring, apparently oblivious to the gravity of the situation unfolding on the street outside.

He was replying to a question from Melissa Lantsman, a gay, Jewish Opposition MP, who had asked precisely when the prime minister had lost his way. She referenced a quote Trudeau made in 2015, when he said that for Canadians to trust the government, the government first needed to trust Canadians. She contrasted those words with his quotes from last year about anti-vaxxers being “racists,” “misogynists” and “the fringe.

But he appears to be suffering from delusions when it comes to the extent of the animosity and alienation he has helped to foster. At one point, he said 90 per cent vaccination rates “show that Canadians have never been more united.” It is curious that the government is pushing the Emergencies Act just as many of the blockades are being cleared across the country, using laws that are already on the books. Border crossings in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba have all been unblocked, Marco Mendicino, the public safety minister, said in a lunchtime briefing.

But on the evidence of the flippant exchanges in the House on Wednesday, they are unlikely to get many satisfactory answers. There is a growing sense that Trudeau has seen the way the wind of public opinion is blowing and decided to politicize the protests even further.

IvisonJ nationalpost National Post oblivious as Canadians lose faith in bad faith gaslighting and incompetent police actively letting occupiers get away with whatever they want

IvisonJ nationalpost The Trudeau hate club is at it again. Imagine immigrating to Canada and then hate the PM every day. Pretty sad life choice. And also live in the most socialist province while hating socialism. Ivison’s hypocrisy has to be called out. ChantalHbert

IvisonJ nationalpost Another anti-PMJT rant from former “journalist” IvisonJ, rendering nationalpost even LESS relevant than before. ‘Tis not that long past when Canadians looked TO it as the reasonable alternative to GlobeandMail3 … 🤨

IvisonJ nationalpost The dominos of failure were OttawaPolice ,fordnation , then JustinTrudeau , in that order. So yes the invocation of the emergencies act is a result of authority and political failure, but it is not JTs alone.

IvisonJ nationalpost Ivison oblivious as he sips Nabob,

IvisonJ nationalpost Jesus…swing and a miss.

IvisonJ nationalpost This tells the correct picture.

IvisonJ nationalpost Please don't reprint Ivison. He's more out of touch with reality than a dementia patient on LSD.

For many inside the Freedom Convoy, faith fuels the resistance | CBC NewsChristian faith — with an overtly evangelical feel — flows likes an undercurrent through the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa. Some protesters say they went to Ottawa on God's instruction. In the GiveSendGo hack 'God' is mentioned 10,203 times. Also, faith is no substitute for server security. 'Christians' - you guys will believe anything. Shut your Twitter accounts down. Christian's? Romans 13:1-2 says: 'Obey the government, for God is the One who has put it there. ... So those who refuse to obey the law of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow.'

Trudeau invoked Emergencies Act prematurely, says BergenPrime Minister Justin Trudeau went “straight to 100” when he invoked the federal Emergencies Act, says interim Conservative leader Candice Bergen. On Monday, Trudeau invoked the Act for the first time in Canadian history to give his government new powers to remove and prosecute anti-COVID-restrictions protesters, who’ve blocked four Canada-U.S. border crossings in recent weeks. […] Candice Bergen is unfit to be a member of parliament let alone interim leader. Trudeau has been weak, calculating and vacillating but at least not supporting thugs and bullies as Ms. Bergen is. You'd think she would be cowering in her seat, hoping her traitorous behaviour will not be bandied about, but no, in true Con fashion, go on the offensive and hope the dweebs buy it. If I’m honest though, I don’t expect him to wine & dine them, welcome them w open arms, fist bump them, take selfies w them, endorse them or collaborate w them because their stated goal is sedition. Who would do this sort of thing?
