The 3rd booster currently being offered does not protect against Omicron. Pfizer's won't be ready until sometime in March and Moderna is currently looking at sometime in the fall.

Why Why not change the definition to 4 shots if that provides more protection? Because people are not down with taking 3-4 injections per year when they do not offer better immunity than having contacted the generally mild disease anyways.

Given the choice, assuming no health issues, I'd be more confident in my protection if I had 2 doses and 1 real infection which a lot of Ontarians now have. Recovering from the real mutated strain probably provides more immunity in the future than the vaccine based on original.
