Jennifer Robson: Finding truth and balance: advice to new and aspiring political staffers cdnpoli (subs)

Political staffers should pay attention to their own sense of when it is time for them to leave and move on to something new. Remember, you’re only ever a tourist, not a resident, when you work on the Hill, writes Jennifer Robson.A very long time ago, I worked as a political staffer on the Hill.

Today, as a professor and now-director of the Riddell Graduate Program in Political Management at Carleton University, I have the privilege of working every year with dozens of young staffers from all major parties. I can see how the job has changed, but I also see a lot of continuity in what staffers must learn and do to be successful. It can be a tough job with demanding hours, demanding bosses, and demanding stakeholders.

Especially if she smells like 5 day old clam chowder. If you are still not attracted to her after 4 months of dating than definitely time to break it off. Not every date will lead to a long term relationship and that is okay. Wish her well and move on. No. Walk away and let some other man who finds her sexually attractive attempt to please her. If you persist re dating her, you are causing harm to yourself and to her unnecessarily. Why go through life spreading pain and hurt?
