Emergencies Act used after lack of ‘breakthrough’ with convoy demonstrators: feds

Freeland says Ottawa convoy was ‘agonizing’ time for Canadians, government

During a special joint committee on the invocation of the Emergencies Act, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland told Sen. Peter Harder that the period the so-called "Freedom Convoy" encamped in downtown Ottawa was an "agonizing time" for both Canadians and those in government. She said they had to balance "serious things against each other.

Seemed like a simple solution had Trudumb just met with them to discuss their issues. Just maybe a compromise might have been reached.

That's right. They were blowing up bouncy castles in record time.

These officials definitely have a skewed view of protesting.

JUST MORE FAKE NEWS. I will never buy any of your sponsors products. Just saying. My bad.

Parking violations That is what Justin required the draconian Emergency Act. Justin is simply pathetic

So many bouncy castles. So many hugs. So many honks. Only violence and “escalation” was from the storm troopers brought in to defend trudoh’s wounded ego. Good thing everything is documented and the whole world watched.

Why? Because the trotted out the bouncy castles and hot tub? TrudeauCorruption

DeanPlunkettTHW Lol. This progress?

Talk about burying this lol. One post. But multiple posts about monkey pox, covid and polio lol. Gotta keep that funding safe eh global? Stay yellow.

Correct! There was NO successful agreement for the Convoy voluntarily leave Feb. 13, the city announced it had come to an agreement with ONE of the 5 leaders of the demonstration Few trucks actually left ... 'though some ended up on Wellington Street'

Omg damage control in effect. Lmao war time action enacted for something that was no significant threat to anyone except the leadership. All the unmasked peaceful protesters should have caught covid according to the 'science ' what a joke this has become.

atRachelGilmore This is horseshit and you’re compulsive liars. I trust Salmonella more than I trust your reporting.

Wonder why. People are fed up with corrupt governments. News agencies shoveling immigrants down our throats to add insult to injury.

God bless those who fight for freedom!

I think Global is acting like CBC

Protesting is a bold action standing up for freedoms including taking the message to Ottawa where the government in power would not even meet.

Lies!!! There was negotiation’s going on and a few escalation plan was set to start the day before the Emergency act was illegal used! indaddytrudeausbackpocket

The Media lies we saw live streams of it all ,,, We saw the Trudeau goons beat up innocent people protesters

So which one is true

Well Global, your whole station better build a crying room with lots of corners because the protests will surely increase until these radicals are out of office

The police were soft on these “ protestors “ shoulda taken action before it got to that point.

So a political protest shows up to talk to politicians about discrimination against Canadians for pro choice. And liberal_party couldn’t send one person to talk to them. They sent a mayor Useless politicians, politicians are the fringe minority imo JustinTrudeau CTVNews

Just imagine a politician having a conversation with a group of non-partisan citizens with a grievance. What a noble idea and civil gesture. Pierre Poilievre did that, Justin Trudeau... not so much.

Maybe Trudeau should have put on his big boy pants and had an adult conversation with them? Instead he chose to have a 5 year old temper tantrum and call them names and make up lies then freeze their bank accounts and confiscate their property and sick the riot squads on them. 🙄

What was Watson doing talking to these traitors to the country.

Like that time Trudeau calling on his supporters to overthrow the government.

Oh no Canadians being bold What were they doing Skinny-dipping in their hot tubs?

Escalation of boldness.

There was nothing to bring in the emergency act, no proof of nothing there was nothing but love 💗

It was 3 weeks too long!

As as a woke Progressive I was so recreationally outraged to see this kind of behavior unfold in our Ottawa streets. We must not tolerate Canadians coming together in solitarity to support one another.

Bullshit similar to global who what when where

oh stfu, if it was some commie antifa or blm protest it would be given a green light, just ignore the fires, looting, and violence. Yup, it's only bad when Conservatives protest. So tired of double standards and lies

Yah on the bouncy castles?

And Pat King had a gun. An illegal handgun. And part of their 'protest' tried to assassinate a bunch of RCMP officers. And millions in wages were lost due to illegal blockades. They were never 'protestors'. And the EA Inquiry will show DEEP links to the CPC and their leaders.

F*** FreeDUMB Convoy Trucker Mentality !!!

There is a significant cover your ass going on here..

Lock the goofs along with Pierre Poilievre and the rest of the conservatives who supported this bull💩up.

The CPC is well on the road to becoming the political wing of the so-called trucker freedom movement or the convoy party of Canada.

Nice spin. Who paid you?

10k cops couldn’t handle the ‘’boldness’’…🤡💩

That's it right there. Can't have people standing up for their jobs and lively hoods to feed their families. It was their boldness, not crime or vandalism. They dared to stand for something and THAT cannot be tolerated!

MORE LIES from the mainstream media! what a f*ing surprise!

love the way this is spun. Bravo in leading people to a conclusion you want them to have.

atRachelGilmore

What boldness? They went home after you called them racists

Of course they were

Stop distracting from the significant testimonials of FINTRAC, RCMP, GoFundMe, Ottawa Police & others that points to PMO not meeting the criteria to invoke EA.

B U L L S H I T

Canada's government abused human rights and they broke the Nuremberg code. Their actions have killed many with forced experimental medical injections. The truckers only crime was to park illegally in protest.

So much bullshit. They are trying to justify using excessive power

What? A significant escalation in hot tubs and bouncy castles? I can totally see how this would terrify all those inconvenienced Ottawa folks. 🙄

officials..what officials and what were their names...'significant' means 'to be worthy of attention'. So you are saying that because conboy demonstrators were worthy of attention this warranted use of the emergency act...really

All Trudeau had to do was go talk to the leaders & it would've been over. Instead he chose to call them names & lie about them with the help of the media. Trudeau can give money to terrorists, bend the knee to racist hate groups but can't talk to upset yet peaceful Canadians.

Look at you earning those Liberal Propaganda $$. Purchased as Propaganda Purveyors by the creators of fake news & misinformation. The Liberal Empty Virtual Signaling Propaganda Party of Canada.

LOL, sure!

😂

What are these people even mad about? Get over it princess

Sure they were.

Shut up

word salad

At the same time 'economic losses attributed to the blockade at the Detroit Windsor Ambassador Bridge on both sides of the border are approaching $1 billion' and 'Coutts, Alta., border blockade estimated loss of $220M economic activity: industry experts | CTV News.Feb 3, 2022'

Such escalation.

So basically they used an act meant for when our country is at war to abuse peoples rights during a protest that directly opposes government doctrine. At least they are starting to be honest about it.
