The Canadians Care Collective Fund 2020 started its campaign on April 10 and are now helping to feed the five not-for-profit long-term care facilities

Three women from suburban Toronto have mobilized donors and local restaurants to feed frontline healthcare workers in hospitals and long-term care homes during the COVID-19 crisis.

The Canadians Care Collective Fund 2020 started its campaign on April 10, and later announced a joint venture with the Markham Rotary Club Foundation. As of Monday they were helping to feed the five not-for-profit long-term care facilities in Markham as well as Markham Stouffville Hospital. Donations made to Canadians-Care.causevox.com will defray the costs of local restaurants, which are relying solely on takeout orders.

“This past week, volunteers with the Canadians Care Collective Fund pulled up to the front entrance of Union Villa and dropped off 120 fresh meals for the healthcare professionals and essential team members,” said Maria Dimson, director of development for the Unionville Home Society Foundation. Unionville’s Arms Pub and Grill will be supplying 850 meals for Markham Stouffville Hospital on April 30.
