Montreal police are worried that a dangerous drug known as 'purple heroin' has made its way into the city.

A man prepares heroin he bought on the street to be injected at the Insite safe injection clinic in Vancouver on May 11, 2011. THE CANADIAN PRESS/Darryl DyckMontreal police are worried that a dangerous drug known as "purple heroin" has made its way into the city.

Montreal police declined an interview request but said they were aware of the drug and were being vigilant. Jean-Francois Mary, who heads the organization that supports drug users, said the problem isn't necessarily the presence of fentanyl, but of not knowing how much of it there is. Mary feels tough police action to stop the flow of drugs does nothing more than destabilize the market by replacing established sources with newer and possibly more dangerous ones.

Dangerous ‘purple heroin’ has made its way to Montreal, police document saysThe Ontario Provincial Police warned earlier this year about the dangers of the drug, which is typically made up of heroin, OxyContin and fentanyl or carfentanil. Zero sympathy for people who die trying to get a buzz. Let them go and we'll all have a better society. Your serving that heroin on a bed of lettuce? On a serious note, I’m glad that we’re drawing more attention to the incredible dangers of fentanyl and carfentanyl (elephant tranquilizer). These synthetic opioids are so much more dangerous than semi-synthetic heroin or natural morphine.

For them it is all about subscribers, views and money.

RCMP went silent about massive pot bust over concern for marijuana producer’s stock price, documents revealThere were also concerns the release of information could embarrass Health Canada and expose ‘deficiencies’ in new medical marijuana regulations You should do some deeper digging. I believe you will find at east one federal Minister with major investments in the company. Uh, did the arresting officer need to dump his/her stock first? I know that a lot of RCMP officers made money investing in those companies. Huge. I can see a clear bias.
