MISSISSAUGA, ONT. – Peel Police recently announced they have arrested and charged a site supervisor following the death of a man working underground at a jobsite in Mississauga in December 2022.
The victim, Joaquim Silva, a 54-year-old man from Mississauga employed with Technicore Underground Inc., sustained fatal injuries while servicing a damaged pipeline. On Dec. 2, 2022, Peel Police responded to a call about an industrial mishap in an underground water chamber on a property located at Hurontario Street and Burnhamthorpe Road West, an April 12 police report stated.
Following a criminal investigation, on March 28, 2024, Joseph Di Millo, a Technicore project supervisor, was arrested and charged with one count of criminal negligence causing death.Technicore Underground Inc. is required to be in court on May 31.
