York Condominium Corporation No. 82 sent letters to all owners informing them they had 15 days to pay a special assessment ranging from $30,000 to $42,500 per unit for repair costs.

Many of the hundreds of owners are seniors who were given 15 days to pay thousands in special asssessment fees.

Any updates on this? Would be great to hear that things have turned around for this Condominium and the negligence is being addressed.

This makes me glad I'm a renter. Many years in one apartment and when something's wrong I send a text and magic happens. If it started crumbling I'd just move. Easy peasy.

I would disband the corporation and sell the building for land value. A renovated 3 bed listed today at 236K shows they are basically worthless.

This is criminal. More than 2.5 million in monthly fees paid every year and yet the building is in disrepair. Someone should be going to jail.

Question! Where has the maintenance money gone I think an audit of the Condo Corps books are called for.

Where did all the money go, why has this building been allowed to fall into such disrepair. If owners were paying their monthly fees it would generate over 3 million a year at today's monthly rate, why was this money not used to repair, thought that was what $ for.

This is a disaster waiting to happen. Not doing repairs immediately is not an option. Every single person involved in this has potential for massive liability if anything happens to this building, regardless of fault.

This should be a reminder to people never to get into the condo trap.

If it was me I would accept that I had lived there for years and purchase price and maintenance fees were just like rent. Not throw good money after bad. I would let mngmt sell my condo for the lien and walk away. Not ideal and have to find a new home but?
