The RCMP reported to the Independent Investigations Office of B.C. that shortly after midnight on April 17, 2021, police tried to stop a white minivan in the 100-block of Highway 1 near Ladysmith on Vancouver Island.
A police service dog was used to help take him into custody, and he “sustained a serious dog bite injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.”
