In the decision, the court of appeal ruled the appeal was being dismissed as the judges found the registrar acted in accordance with regulations outlined in pertinent acts.A spokesperson for the college said the registrar, Dr. Gus Grant, the only person who can comment on such matters, was not available for an interview due to meetings.According to information in the decision, the three patients made complaints in May 2020, September 2020 and April 2021.
The second involved an incident in 2017 in which the patient alleges Moodley spoke to them inappropriately about a tubal ligation, which included stating"her future husband" might not approve of her having one.The third was in relation to a pregnant person reporting back pain to Moodley at hospital and the doctor saying it wasn't because of labour, an assessment the patient disagreed with.
The rulings found evidence supporting the complainants' claims of professional misconduct and made charges in relation to their findings.
