General manager Kent Hughes announced on Tuesday afternoon that the team has agreed to terms on a three-year, NHL entry-level contract with forwardon his left shoulder on Wednesday. Last season, Arber had season-ending surgery on his right shoulder in early March after posting 5-8-13 totals in 51 games. Arber had 3-7-10 totals in 44 games this season with the Canadiens and he also played 17 games with the AHL ’s Laval Rocket .
Florian also signed a professional tryout offer on Tuesday, which allows him to join the Laval Rocket for the remainder of the 2023-24 AHL season. He will meet the team in Cleveland, where the Rocket will play back-to-back games against the Monsters on Thursday and Saturday. The Rocket have four games remaining in the regular season and are currently tied with Belleville for the fifth and final playoff spot in the North Division with the Senators holding two games in hand. The Utica Comets, who hold one game in hand on Laval, are one point behind the Rocket and the Senators.
The 23-year-old Arber, who is in the final season of his NHL entry-level contract with a salary-cap hit of US$823,333, can become a restricted free agent this summer.
