The latest WorkSafeBC data show 88 COVID-19 claims have been allowed from elementary teachers compared with 26 from secondary schools.
However, the Education Ministry says schools have seen low transmission rates, suggesting current guidelines are working. Rules on masks were expanded last month to require students in middle and secondary schools to wear them in all indoor areas, as well as in learning groups. Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry has said the updated guidelines are in line with those in workplaces, and the level of exposure in schools is a reflection of what’s happening in any given community.Article content
Considering that this is the first winter in over a decade that I didn’t get the flu! Not even a very mild case! Also only a very mild sinus cold that lasted a day at most. All the hand washing and masks and limiting the touching of everything works!
Your information is inaccurate. Middle schoolers do not have to wear masks in their learning groups. It’s in those cohorts when they can take their masks off which defeats the purpose of a supposed ‘mask mandate.’ Please ensure your information is correct. That’s your job.
