Longshore workers at Canada’s largest port are set to walk off the job on July 1, setting up a potentially major labour disruption that businesses are warning would drive up costs and worsen the country’s already rattled supply chain.

ILWU Canada on Wednesday issued a 72-hour strike notice for its members working at the Port of Vancouver and Port of Prince Rupert, after failing to reach a new labour deal with the BC Maritime Employers Association , which represents the businesses at the ports in talks.
