The latest MLB sign-stealing debacle is a scandal for our time and, as SNJeffBlair writes, bless the Astros for leading us into it.

But upon further review, and in light of reports Thursday that the investigation has widened, I say well done to the Astros. I hope we find out that they bugged the visiting manager’s office, the visiting clubhouse, and dugout, too – and that other teams are doing it. Because this is in the very best tradition of a game with a rich heritage of skullduggery and subterfuge.

We’re not talking simply changing sequences, either. By the end of the year, Danny Jansen and Reese McGuire were flashing so many odd signals they looked like bee-keepers attending to hives without protective headgear. This was essentially counter-espionage, made all the more difficult by the fact opposing teams gossiped about how the Blue Jays as a staff routinely tipped their pitches.

SNJeffBlair Changeups almost always end up outside the strike zone. Getting free ball calls has to benefit the hitter. More and better hitter counts.

SNJeffBlair Its so childish....here's an idea, get creative and switch up your signs if you think they are being 'stolen'

SNJeffBlair I mean, we know this has been happening for a while. They aren't the first to get caught. Teams that get caught should summarily be suspended for the whole season.

SNJeffBlair Possession is 9 points of the law so I guess tey need to find the signs they are accused of stealing.
