A bipartisan U.S. Senate report released last week details security failures surrounding the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol and recommends how to fix them. WASHINGTON -- A bipartisan Senate report released last week details security failures surrounding the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol and recommends how to fix them. But it has only added to the unanswered questions about the attack, when hundreds of former President Donald Trump's supporters broke through windows and doors and interrupted the certification of President Joe Biden's win.

Democrats, and some Republicans, believe that a bipartisan, independent commission is still needed. But Republicans in the Senate blocked legislation that would have created a panel similar to the one that probed the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks 20 years ago, saying another review would be redundant, partisan and unnecessary.

The two Senate committees that conducted the investigation, the Homeland panel and the Senate Rules Committee, said that the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security did not fully comply with their probe. So the extent of those agencies' role in the missed intelligence is still unclear. More than three dozen members and associates of the far-right groups the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers have been charged. Beyond the criminal charges, though, a commission could look at the broader influences of those groups, how they were formed and what they might have planned next. Lawmakers have also asked questions about their financing and about whether anyone helped pay for their actions in Washington.

'She was thrown to the ground': Police investigate attack on Muslim woman in EdmontonAnother attack on a Muslim woman in Edmonton is being investigated by police. With a sudden surge of race issues, one got to wonder whether there is a cognition warfare against Canada, and trying to destroy us from within. Racism is bad, leave no doubt, but used by foreign actors is much worse. Without Canada, all is in vain. Turning on the hate switch again aren't ya! To think Muslims have often left war-torn countries for Canada's supposed safety and are finding themselves unsafe here. WTH! Too many white supremacists in this country. Wish there was an island to dump the lot of them.

At NATO, Biden says defence of Europe, Turkey, Canada a ‘sacred obligation’ for U.S.Arriving in Brussels from the weekend’s G7 summit in England, Biden again sought to rally Western allies to support a U.S. strategy to contain China’s military rise as well as showing unity in the face of Russian aggression I'd much rather be on the USA side of the border when the defending begins, if at all possible. Im sure you can find lots of Canadians who would be honoured to lay down their lives for Erdogan. His handlers are so out of touch with reality and voters it isn’t even funny. Enjoy these two years Democrats. Quotes like this will return Trump or like minded republicans to office.
