YouTube and no fear: MasterChef judges on secrets to cooking with kids | Louise Rugendyke

Melissa Leong and Jock Zonfrillo are no strangers to dealing with kids in the kitchen. Thejudges share bench space with the children in their lives – Leong cooks with her eight-year-old god-daughter Dion, while Zonfrillo juggles kitchen duties with his two teenagers, Ava, 19, Sophia, 14, and two-and-a-half-year-old son, Alfie.kitchen, along with third judge Andy Allen, to cast an eye over the next generation of chefs-in-the-making in Ten’s.

And if that “post-show engagement” results in more tears and tantrums than tortillas, Zonfrillo and Leong say it’s best to abide by the KISS principle: keep it simple stupid . “That way you can see all the different ingredients before they are all brought together and you have the tactile nature of something that's really fun and interactive and easy to achieve.” says Leong. “It's a successful result because you can see what you're doing.”
