Just nine per cent of distinguished achievers came from schools in the two lowest quantiles of educational advantage.She hopes to eventually study medicine.
"Which is why this year, we've introduced a new award to recognise the resilience of schools impacted by flooding across Australia," she said.

Evidence illustrates that if the demographics (education level etc) of parents of a government school match those of a prestigious private school, the student’s academic outcomes are near identical. Identifying & living in the catchment area of such a school is the key.

Considering comparative resources, state schools do punch above their weight 👏
Remember, society doesn't value teachers or healthcare workers seeing that they were so easily ready to fire them over the covid vax.
Punch above their weight? WTF does that even mean? That public schools and teachers and the students that attend them are some how second rate?
He also states that you need passionate teachers. Good luck finding them in the future as no one studies teaching anymore. Even private schools are struggling to staff their schools.
so 56% were from Govt Schools and had 42% distinguished achievers. 44% were from Independent Schools and had 57% distinguished achievers. I think the heading should be 'Independent Schools Punch above their weight'. More religious bashing from ABC.
