A Senate estimates hearing has been told emails about the controversial program were sent after the government went into caretaker mode ahead of last year's election.

Labor has seized on new details in the $100 million sports funding affair to challenge Prime Minister Scott Morrison over emails that show last-minute changes to documents after he called the federal election.

Labor leader Anthony Albanese has accused Prime Minister Scott Morrison of deception in the sports funding saga. The attack centres on a timeline revealed to the Senate committee hearing on Monday night that showed a flurry of activity with a controversial colour-coded spreadsheet that listed projects according to their electorate.

The audit office previously confirmed that Senator McKenzie's office sent a version of the colour-coded spreadsheet to Sport Australia at 8.46 am on April 11. The version sent at 12.43 pm to Sport Australia had one project removed and nine added when compared to the version sent at 8.46 am the same day.that the final decisions were made on April 4 and that Mr Morrison was not the decision-maker, given Senator McKenzie oversaw the program and had final authority on the grants."The Prime Minister last week claimed that this was all done on April 4. We know this is not true," Mr Albanese told the Labor caucus meeting on Tuesday.

That’s why McKenzie was hung out to dry Morrison and his lies ! Trump would be proud

I agree - Sco Mo must go

Oh but he will or he will try.

And yet fully supports the Morrison government in their complete attack on the freedoms and civil liberties of average Australians, by helping bring into law the Orwellian cashban bill. Australia is ruled by a two-party duopoly, and democracy is dead.

Glass houses? Albo any ideas about deception? A jailed MP you might know? 🤔

It is just a great excuse for the coming recession. If the GFC was not an excuse then a cold is a poor one. Same way LNP consistently benefit from the economic pain of the GFC when Labor was in. Will be HILARIOUS when they try to explain their failed projections by rightfully pointing at the same form of receeding that Labor pulled us back from. Egg on face, a decade in the making. LOL.
