He says her book collection is out of control; she wants to keep them for ‘future generations’. You decide who’s right in this war of words

Sally keeps all her books, even oldSally and I met at school in 2015, and after four years of dating we got married last year. She’s always been a big reader and while I enjoy a book now and again, I don’t read as much as her.

Sally says she loves having a large collection of books in case she wants to reread them or lend them, but that never really happens. Besides, we are lucky and live close to a great library, and also have access to a university library through our work. There’s also the option of audiobooks. Andy thinks our house is getting too cluttered because I like to keep all the books I read. But it’s not like we keep books piled up on the floor – they have a home on our bookshelves. We recently took a big box of my books to the charity shop, which I found very sad. I didn’t like parting with my books – I had some of them for 15 years.

If it's just the clutter, invest in a really good ebook reader. If she enjoys the experience, start replacing books with an ebook version, and donate the books you replace to a community library. There will always be a few left-overs, so be aware you can't get rid of them all 😉

It's only a little collection now and there is a lifetime of reading ahead. Can't keep them all....so start keeping a list of every book you read...

I don’t need to read this article to give an answer. No. She should however divorce you if you keep bringing it up.

Get rid of her books!!! Silly person. At the most maybe cull if only read once. Just build her some bookcases or a library room. That’s what my husband did.

After a decade in the freezer, climate voices welcomed back to Canberra“We’ve lost a decade and we must act. So we’re very pleased that we’ve been brought into the tent. It was pretty hard being outside the tent and knowing that a fire or a flood was coming” climate auspol If you actually cared about reducing carbon emissions asap, rather than just seeming to, you would start fracking nationwide and open up investment in nuclear power immediately. But you don't, so I wonder what your real motives are? Certainly not helping people or the environment More like 2 peanuts out of their shell I reckon. What an awful array of metaphors...I can't see being inside a tent with a fire or flood coming as any sort of benefit.
