A Sydney company has chosen south-east Queensland as its new home of manufacturing for a revolutionary hydrogen fuel cell touted as the next step in renewable energy. 9News

as its new home of manufacturing for a revolutionary hydrogen fuel cell touted as the next step in renewable energy.a home for two days straight on a single charge, all while generating zero emissions.

The system - which even works in a blackout – works by using electrolysis to split water into oxygen and hydrogen. The oxygen is then released into the atmosphere, and the hydrogen is then stored in the fuel cells, creating clean green energy. "We actually can deliver a long-term high-energy storage solution which a lithium battery cannot," Alan Yu from LAVO told 9News.

The hydrogen is stored in a "solid-state", is non-flammable and is tipped to have a 30-year shelf life of charge – all costing about $35,000.But when the battery is coupled with solar energy, its creators say it could allow users to live off the grid power grid and avoid power bills entirely. The battery storage units will be built in Springfield, south of Brisbane, with LAVO's manufacturing site set to be fully set up by March 2022.The new site construction will generate 200 jobs, on top of another 50 jobs when the plant is up and running.

ACCC in talks with authorities about Sea World toy following death of 6yo boyThe consumer watchdog says it is aware of reports about a plush toy penguin linked with the tragic death of a young Queensland boy and is investigating the incident. I feel like its journalistic malpractice to not show a picture of this allegedly deadly toy so I could even have the remotest concept of how a child could possibly kill themselves with one.
