Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says despite Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong once being a member of the CFMEU she “now doesn’t seem to know the first thing about what impacts these people”.

“And she’s there saying that – basically admitting that this net zero stuff is going to cost a lot of people their job,” Mr Canavan told Sky News host Paul Murray.

“Well, this is another broken promise now from the Albanese government because I remember them saying there was going to be over 600,000 jobs created by their ‘Powering Australia plan’, that everyone who wanted a job would have a plan. “We would have these hydrogen industries; everything would be sweet and rosy and now they’ve got these secret reports that they’re refusing to release, saying the complete opposite.”

Australia shouldn’t ‘tamper’ with constitution ‘without a proper debate’Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says he thinks it’s important to have a debate before Australia changes its constitution. The Nationals have confirmed they will oppose the proposal for a Voice to Parliament after consulting with communities in a “genuine way”. “We shouldn’t tamper with it without a proper debate,” Mr Canavan told Sky News Australia. “There are, I believe, a lot of risks of creating a separate race-based representative body in our constitution. “I believe, as the Nationals do, that we should unite as a country.” Voting is racist,,, While Canavan again displays his glaring irrelevance Haha. That’s actually a compliment. Biden is amazing and has set a formidable reform agenda to improve the lives of Americans. Albo doing the same.

And thinking she has the mental capacity to debate with Noel Pearson. Talk about a Lack of Self-Awareness and an Inflated Self-View!

Uluru Statement advocates hope to 'persuade' Nationals to change stanceThe Nationals' move to officially oppose the Voice has been labelled as 'premature' by advocates. These Nationals need to toe the line. We've all worked too hard on securing First Nations sovereignty for it to fall at the last hurdle. Or we could let them keep their stance; and watch them, and their Coalition partners, get voted out of relevance, and then existence, at election after election. It's a marketing stunt. Suddenly, The Nationals are back on the front pages, just in time to obscure Morrison's censure. I'd almost forgotten they still exist.
