With the city in lockdown, a Sydney women's shelter has been forced to think on its feet to keep its vulnerable and isolated patrons safe.

Previously the refuge would have had 60 people through the doors on any given day - now its half a dozen - but Ms Yade said they're easily making up the difference via telephone.More than 30 volunteers have already been trained via teleconference and matched with people who they call twice a week."Usually at Lou’s we have over 100 volunteers a month.
