23-year-old Ashleigh Simrajh, from Coomera, is now also filing a civil case against the two doctors who she's claiming failed to take a biopsy of her cancer.23-year-old Ashleigh Simrajh was eventually diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma.
Ms Simrajh was just 20 in 2017 when she went to see an unnamed GP on the Gold Coast about a red mark on her leg. She claims he then referred her to a general surgeon who allegedly agreed with the GP the mark was just a cyst.But when it became increasingly painful, she saw a third doctor who diagnosed it as Stage 4 melanoma.
This is so sad. We put so much faith in doctors believing what they tell us to be correct. As Ashleigh’s case shows us they’re not always right unfortunately.
