Returning home after visiting her sick daughter in regional Victoria, a Townsville woman has been forced into the back of a police van to get to her hotel. 9News

Ms Develyn saw no reason why she could not sit inside the other cars, like other passengers told her they were.

"I was put in the back. No seatbelt, and then he locked the door, he bolted it, I could hear the turn of the key and the bolt and I was just devastated," she said. The incident happened on Tuesday but It was not until earlier today that Ms Develyn finally received an apology from a local police officer.

"He didn't tell me why it had occurred, he just said it won't happen again and he was apologising that it did happen to me," she said. "I sincerely and unreservedly apologise, that is not the way we managed that incident," Chief Superintendent Craig Hanlon said.Ms Develyn is calling for more compassion from those working on the front-line and dealing with people going into mandatory quarantine.

"I feel there's a real uniform presence, but there's no heart, you know and I think if you're going to employ people Queensland health, let's get it together," she said.

I'd put her on my lap if I was the cop.look at her shes smoking hot.

cops are cops are cops everywhere

People get thrown into paddy wagons for breaking the rules, yet when JetStar fly a plane load of people from MEL to SYD, and let them get off the plane with no testing or quarantine, the government does nothing?

Good.

Lock her up!

It’s highly likely that the lack of cleanliness of the paddy wagon is a furfy.

That’s disgusting. The police should pay a fine. I mean you can’t go around treating innocent people like criminals.

Quite a funny story... 'we've got buses that transport to quarantine now' 😂😂 don't mess with regional vic lmfao

has her daughter been tested what sort of sick if she mentioned sick dsughter to police ofc they'd put her in the back of a paddy 😂

Fair enough throw me in the paddy wagon for nothing I’d be pissed too

Silly bugger.

AND ANOTHER THING NSWPolice, CLEAN OUT THE BACK OF YOUR VEHICLES, FILTHY COPPERS!

Suck it up. I was a police sergeant and rode in one to get to court as my arm was broken. Don't hear me whining.

Typical coppers treating members of the public like criminals is hardly surprising at all. Sack the jerk copper who did it!!

What’s the point?

These stories will get no sympathy
