Woman killed in Townsville in case of domestic violence, police say

There has been another domestic violence-related murder in Queensland, with a man charged over the stabbing death of a woman.

Police said a 49-year-old woman was killed at a unit complex in the Townsville suburb of Pimlico around 1:00am.A 40-year-old man from Mt Isa was this morning charged with her murder. Police said the death is another fatal case of domestic violence but would not confirm the relationship between the accused killer and the victim.The killing comes three days afterwhen her estranged partner threw petrol on them and set them on fire in a car.

Neighbours told the ABC they have called police to the unit block in the past after hearing residents yelling and fighting.

Somehow we have created our own problem. We have dragged the term domestic violence issue through from past. It should be, Murder, Attempted Murder, Violent Crime. Stop making victims responsible for what is done to them just excuses.
