The Australian Financial Review’s apatrickafr says the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan possibly “paves the way” for the country to fall back under the control of the Taliban.

The Australian Financial Review’s Aaron Patrick says the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan possibly “paves the way” for the country to fall back under the control of the Taliban. It comes after the Biden Administration announced all US military forces will be withdrawn from Afghanistan by September 11, 2021.

Australia will also bring home all remaining troops. “I think this forgotten war would have to go down as one of the greatest modern failures in Australian foreign policy,” Mr Patrick told Sky News host Sharri Markson. “It hasn’t played a big role in our consciousness, but it should, we should think about it more.”
