William Tyrrell’s foster mother has been found guilty of intimidating a child by threatening to slap them on two occasions, while his foster father has been found guilty of intimidating the same child.
William’s foster father, whose court-ordered pseudonym is JS, was found guilty of intimidation over an 2020 incident in the car where he yelled at the child that he was “sick of your shit, you talk to us so bloody rudely”.Magistrate Susan McIntyre found on another occasion that JS did apply force to the child’s shoulder. However, she said for other reasons that behaviour was not a criminal offence, and he was not guilty of assault.
Detectives investigating the 2014 disappearance of the three-year-old boy charged the Sydney couple after listening devices placed in their home turned up evidence of assault of another child.Credit:Despite a lengthy investigation by Strike Force Rosann and a delay-plagued inquest that began in 2019, no trace of William has ever been found. No one has been charged over his disappearance.
“We know why, we know how, we know where he is,” Sergeant Scott Jamieson told SD in October 2021, a court has previously heard.
