Bridget McKenzie's ministerial career hangs in the balance a fortnight after the Prime Minister asked the country's top bureaucrat to review her conduct.

before Parliament resumes on Tuesday. There remain unanswered questions about Mr Morrison's office's exact involvement in the grants program.

Nationals deputy leader Bridget McKenzie approved sports grants projects in colleagues' electorates that were lodged well after the deadline and announced just weeks before the federal election. "We have just been advised by the PM's office that there have been some projects on the list funded under another grants program. So we have been asked to make a slight adjustment," the email stated.

The Prime Minister's office has repeatedly refused to detail the exact nature of the representations offered to Senator McKenzie's office.

It should not

She should resign.

No

while shutting down hostiplas and reducing medical funding, cause only healthy people can make it to the poles to vote

In other times, the Minister would have said, “It’s for the good of the party “, and resigned. Now it’s, “If you force me out, you’d better be ready for your shit to hit the fan!”

Does anyone have full list of grants?

Would anyone other than a politician survive something as blatantly crooked as this for this long? They will finally cut her loose but others should go too for rorting of this scale.

With no independent body to act on corruption at the Federal level the LNP can, and do, act with impunity. So no, she'll be fine.

Well, how did Roz Kelly’s career go after her sports rorts? I don’t recall her in any further top jobs.

For years I was constantly trying to explain to people my age why the Liberal party is so grotesque and diseased from the inside out. These days I barely have to try, they’ve shot their own feet for a good decade at least (here’s hoping)

Scandal? She’s a criminal and should absolutely be tried in court as one.

I hope not!! There should also be an investigation into how she made millions of $ - A former schoolteacher now politician buying up million $ investment properties!! Doesn’t add up - perhaps she has a benefactor

Not if the warriors at the ABC have anything to do with it. Come on guys ... keep this alive and don’t let her get the better of you !

Yes, of course it will, when you are protected by the current PM who is a dishonourable man, a liar and cheat This is all about winning votes, the LNP has stooped to a whole new level of deceit

Don't even go there. Definitively, she is unfit to be a politician. So is Scott Morrison because the sportsrorts is 'his' idea.

She should be sacked!!!!

Yes

Wrong question. Will scumo survive. Plus everyone else.

How good's that Bridget McKenzie, ay Scotty?

It's a tough call as so many factors & variables are at play with all having different consequences. I think we can all agree that McKenzie isn't going down without a fight & that's what got ScottyfromMarketing worried. auspol

But what about the mastermind of the sports grants scandal?

It shouldn't, but it will as they govern with privileged impunity. auspol

well ... apparently PVO says no

At least Hewson appears to acknowledge he was wrong in the Ros Kelly affair. Even if it only took him 25 years. Would like to see him apologise though. 'How is it that this didn’t immediately ring alarm bells for Morrison?' John Hewson asks. Because Morrison wanted to win the election by hook or by crook(ed means)? 🤔 auspol SportsRorts She's symbolic of something so sick in Australian politics today.
