From humble beginnings in 2004, triple j's Like A Version has morphed into a giant, drawing artists and listeners from around the world, and changing the way in which song covers are appreciated

"Like A Version is an absolute beast," triple j content manager Lachie Macara said."We see that in the huge spike of users we have on the triple j app, the ridiculous activity on the triple j textline and the big numbers the videos do on YouTube and Facebook."

Macara said the program's growing popularity meant international and Australian acts were increasingly wanting to lock in LAV around their tours, for both the platform and the creative challenge it offered. "As a young musician in Australia, getting played on triple j is a goal you aim for and LAV is a part of that, [so] it's definitely something I always wanted to do," she said.

"They take it really seriously and when they come in they want to get it right and do something that stands the test of time."

Paramedic told: ‘I’m not afraid to hit a girl’An angry driver told a fellow Melbourne motorist “I’m not afraid to hit a girl” before delivering a violent bashing that left a student paramedic with a fractured eye socket, a court has heard. It happened in Victoria. The judge will probably look at his background and feel sorry for him and give him a slap on the wrist. You are absolutely afraid, only a coward would hit a girl after terrorising her in a car like you did. You are an embarrassment to your family, and need to go to prison for a very long time As I am in Melbourne, you are lucky it was not me-reality or AryaStark artistry. As those of us with patronisng humanity would say...karma is a coming for you needle justice
