Managing director Richard Spurio says jogging with employees keeps his finger on the pulse, but it is not always easy to keep up with the young lawyers.

I take an early morning flight if I’m travelling. It’s very hard to do better than sitting down with people, talking to them, often going for a walking meeting to see what is happening and to reconnect with people. If I’m overnight or interstate I always try and organise something with a client or our people. Mainly, actually, I might go for a run or walk with someone from our team.

I’m nowhere near as fit as I would like. I do try to fit in exercise most morning, injury permitting. I’m also often meeting people out in the suburbs. It might be a run or walk around the Tan or meeting clients out in the suburbs for a coffee or walk while people are working from home.If you are doing something solo, it’s a great way to think through issues and sometimes a solution might come to you while you’re running around the Tan.
