The relentless logic of the war is pushing it beyond Ukraine’s borders. Can the West contain the conflict without giving Putin the upper hand?

mean Western politicians face the usual media-driven pressure to “do something”. And the problem for the West is that sanctions are slow. But fighter jets are fast., or at least give Ukraine the air power to repel the next phase of Russia’s invasion.

“There is a genuine fear of being engaged against Russian forces. But the problem is that European security does not stop at the NATO border. This is not a war happening just in Ukraine, this is a war in Europe,” he said., alongside gear like helmets and ammunition, it can keep Ukraine in the fight without having to join it.

But if the strategy is invisible to Russia, it will also be invisible to the Western and Ukrainian publics. And so the pressure will keep rising. It also doesn’t mean Ukraine can win the war. Prolonging the conflict by arming the resistance may help drain Putin’s coffers and authority, but it doesn’t help Zelensky defeat him.

The danger is that the ordinary Russian military doctrinal response is to escalate, escalate, escalate.“New de facto borders are established where the troops end up,” he wrote this week. Putin will want to ensure he has control of the Donbas region and the south coast before he gets serious about negotiation.. He would be up for embracing neutrality – abandoning his quest to join NATO – if it came with a credible security guarantee from at least Russia and the US.

He definitely won’t stop at Ukraine so the stupid West leaders need to act now. WW3 is inevitable. We might as well lead.

They can't go more than 120km from their railways.

The elephant in the room , is the 14,000 innocent men, women and children who were murdered in (east Ukraine) Donetsk, Lugansk and Donbas , by Poroschenko and Zelensky since 2014. Why aren’t corporate owned western MSM and US/UK/ NATO respecting their deaths ?

While Putin is denied battlefield success, look east to grasp his strategyThe eastern theatre of the war in Ukraine is a vital link between Russia’s northern operations - and a danger zone for the Ukrainian high command. Putin's is the strategy of the KGB. Not only inflicting death but pain, as a threat to others. This opinion appears informed only by one-sided war propaganda I could form those opinions simply by looking at a shaded war map.
