Former Australian Test captain and South African rebel tourist Kim Hughes would be sad to see Cameron Smith defect to the Saudi-backed rebel golf series, but fully supports the champion golfer’s right to make that decision, writes Malcolm Conn | golf

Smith, who had racked up a total of $39 million in prize money following his recent British Open victory, isHughes, now 68, remains annoyed that sport and business are treated differently. The dashing batsman and his fellow, although the bans coincided with the rebel tours.
