There's a reason parcel delivery drivers aren't knocking and are just dropping a card instead: money

Like many Australians in lockdown, Kirsty Webeck has been spending a lot of time at home.

“When I go to the post office it often looks like the main stage at Splendour in the Grass. They are creating a super-spreader event at Australia Post.” According to the postal worker’s union, the practice of leaving a collection slip in someone’s mailbox – or “carding” – is on the rise due to Australia Post’s employment of subcontractors who are paid by the parcel.

Donna Ciccia, who lives in Coogee in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, said most of her online deliveries were being transported directly to the post office. It’s a situation she describes as frustrating and ironic.“But then we have to go to the post office and wait in line with lots of people. Often the lines go down the street.”

Thankfully I'm in an area where my postie is able to leave the parcels safely by my door. If that's also you and you're still grizzling then organise a permanent ATL with the post office.

This article was overdue. Standard press spokesperson feeding the party line but the guts of the story is 100% accurate as anyone who ever breathed air in Australia knows.

The bain of my lockdown is experience carding lockdown ImAlwaysHome

Twice in 10 days I've had text messages from AusPost saying my parcel is ready for collection from LPO. No-one rang my doorbell. No card was left in my letterbox. Just straight to the PO.

We are at home in lockdown with cars in the driveway and still get 'sorry we missed you' cards in the letterbox. Why I am grateful to John Coates (for his insulting treatment of Queensland’s most powerful woman)'I am really grateful to John Coates. PM quizzed on why he took so long to say sorryBREAKING: It took Scott Morrison days of pressure to finally front up and offer a proper apology to Australians for the bungled Covid vaccine rollout. But today, he finally said it. Details: This guy is to blame for the complete failure of getting covid under control. As if when ordering vaccine last year he would not have seen what other countries were ordering, ie multiple supplies of pfizer AND Astrazenica. Shame. jenny told him to say it, so he did. The word sorry was uttered but not in the context of a true apology. Nice try.

Why we wanted the Prime Minister to say ‘I’m sorry’Apologies assure others that you value a certain standard and acknowledge that you have not done enough to meet it. Resign is a better word. Paul Keating On the Liberal’s Remember Howard's apology to the stolen generation? Yeah me neither. The Right Wing struggle with sorry, it's strange, they expect it of others.
