White House deputy press secretary TJ Ducklo has been suspended for a week without pay after he reportedly issued a sexist and profane threat to a journalist seeking to cover his relationship with another reporter.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki wrote on Twitter that Mr Ducklo had been suspended for a week without pay and will not work with Politico reporters again. Ms Psaki said while she had not spoken about the incident with President Joe Biden, Mr Ducklo and aides "at the highest levels" of the White House's communications team had apologised for the incident."We've had conversations with him … This will never happen again."
"If you're ever working with me and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect, talk down to someone, I promise you I will fire you on the spot … no ifs, ands or buts," Mr Biden told political appointees during a virtual swearing-in ceremony.Ms Psaki says Mr Biden was not involved in the decision to suspend Mr Ducklo.
