The nation's household waste has soared to levels usually seen at Christmas, and the pandemic-prompted resurgence of single-use items like masks and takeaway containers is not helping.More time spent at home, record retail sales, and single-use items are contributing to the increaseAustralian Council of Recycling chief executive Pete Schmigel said there had been a 20 per cent increase in waste and recycling across the country.

It is simple. If people are stuck at home they will be renovating, tidying up, not putting packaging into commercial bins at their workplace.

was thinking about this, this morning. just before COVID we were switching to a more environmentally friendly practice ans as soon as COVID came we have had to revert. a little disappointing TBH. Example coffee cups v's keeper cups.
Get new bins, we've moved to FOGO bins and the only takeaways we get is the local fish n chips wrapped in paper.
Or maybe because more people are at home more of the time atm!
